Pokemon RP (Dane' and Lindy)

(We can start the Roleplay in the Kalo's region and then work our way around to other Various regions if we want to.)

Occupation: Pokemon Pest/Problem Specialist (Travels over all the regions to solve Pokemon problems.)

History:
Originally from Kanto, Valen was born in the City of Lavender Town.
His Family specialized in the study of Ghost and psychic pokemon. Peace between pokemon and humans in this town had always been a little unstable. Valen's Father had hoped that his research would assist humans in better understanding the local Ghost Pokemon. Unfortunately before his Father's goal could be fulfilled, a mysterious incident occurred killing both of Valen’s Parents. The incident had a particularly negative effect on Valen’s younger Brother Solo.

Deciding that the town was too dangerous to stay in, Valen and his brother were sent to the Kalo’s region to stay with their Aunt in Shalour City.
Life there seemed to take on a more pleasant tone. Valen’s Aunt ran a pokemon rehabilitation and adoption centre from her home near the Sea.

Current:
After working with his aunt at the center for many years, Valen eventually made it his goal to rescue and assist with any pokemon related 'pest problems'. He believes that by rescuing these pokemon ‘pests’ they get to have a second chance at a better life.

The sun blazed brightly in the sky, it warmed the air causing a hot and muggy haze to shift over the road to Camphrier City.

With a heavy sigh, Valen wiped the sweat from his brow. He had been journey for 10 days straight and needed to stock up on supplies soon.
“Camphrier City should be close now…well at least I hope it is, I’ve got sunburn on my sunburn” He murmured with slight annoyance. His gaze briefly floated over the white form of his travelling companion, “What do you think Absol, are we close?”
With a confident bark Absol pointed her head towards the direction they needed go in.

A little while later the city of Camphrier came into sight.
With a grin gradually spreading across his face, Valen petted Absol appreciatively at the neck. “Nice work Girl. Now let’s find some food, I don’t know about you but I’m as hungry as a Snorlax.”
With a growl of Agreement the two padded off into the city to search for a place to eat and recover.

history: raised in a snowy town near the beach she became a fun loving girl from a young age. Her older brother gave her a vulpix when she was old enough to speak. Her parents always wanted her to settle down and get a good job so she studied pokemon vet science to sattisfy them but decided that staying in one place wasn't for her and told her parents she was setting out to travel to which they begrudgingly agreed.

Lira had been at the pokecentre in camphier city since she had been helping nurse joy with some injured pokemon after a particularly bad forrest fire. Her whole body ached and she felt like falling over from exhaustion. But she had to finish tending to the bellossom on the table in front of her.
A tray of food floated to the table next to her and ninetales nudged her with a cold nose.
She looked at her dearest friend with a tired smile: "in a minute. I just need to bandage up this last wound."
Ninetales looked at her, cocking her head to one side.
Lira rolled her eyes and sighed: " i promise. Look it's all done" she said, pinning the bandage in place.

After a much needed meal, Valen headed out to the first place marked out on his map, The Pokemon Center. He had travelled far and his pokemon were weary and exhausted.
With Absol at his side the two navigated through the winding roads of the city. Eventually they reached a boulevard with a red sign hanging overhead, it read ‘Pokemon Centre’.
“Finally! phew! Now we can have everyone checked out and fed”
Straining his bright blue eyes, Valen saw the glass doors of the Pokemon Centre. Making his way towards them he entered the building and walked up to an open counter.
He wrinkled his nose, The centre had a strange smell hanging in the air, a burnt smell. He looked down at Absol who agitatedly ruffled up her fur at the scent, “Hmm you smell it too huh? I did smell smoke as we entered the city…maybe something happened?”
Valen’s eyes fell onto a small silver bell on the front counter. He rang it hoping to see someone who could help him with his Pokemon.

Lira sighed as she heard the service bell. She knew nurse joy would have her hands full at the moment with the injured venusaur she was tending. She forsed herself from her chair and dragged her feet to the front counter. She saw a white haired boy with his tired looking absol waiting at the counter. They had obviously been travling a long time. She tried her best to muster a tired smile.
"Hey. Sorry for the wait. We have our hands a bit full with the recent forrest fire. Would you like me to tend to your pokemon for you?"
Her audino jumped out of its pokeball ever happy to help a weary traveler

A little while after ringing the bell, Valen’s eyes caught sight of a girl with brilliant locks of pink and purple hair. She trotted out from the room behind the counter and smiled pleasantly, "Hey. Sorry for the wait. We have our hands a bit full with the recent forest fire. Would you like me to tend to your pokemon for you?”

With a slight blush brushing across his cheeks, Valen shook his head gratefully, “Yes Please, we’ve been travelling far and I imagine my team is probably quite exhausted, Right Absol?”
With a bark of agreement from his furry companion, Valen reached for a pokeball. A beam of red light emanated around Absol as she returned. Valen then deposited the rest of his pokeballs neatly on the counter in the tray provided.

“You mentioned a forest fire?” He added curiously, “I smelled some smoke on the way here to Camphier City this afternoon…Do you think that there are any other pokemon out there that might need help?”
Valen’s thoughts pondered over the mission he had been given. He had been sent to Camphier City because of the recent increase in fires. They had been burning dangerously close to the city and the local farmers in the surrounding areas had had enough. It was suspected that the cause of the fire was a pokemon and that was the reason why they had called Valen.

Lira took the balls from the boy.
"We have been getting more pokemon every day. The squirtle squad has been trying to contain the fire but it seems that it starts anew whenever they make progress. Most of the flying type have fled, but the smaller bug and grass type can't move very fast. There might be more out there. I wish i could go help. Waiting for them to come here wastes valuable time that they need with such critical burns. I will quickly take your pokemon to the back. Please have a seat and get some refreshments from the cafe while you wait."
Audino followed Lira to the back and they set free the boy's pokemon. Lira was most surprised to find a shiny Rapidash among his team. All the pokemon seemed healthy and well trained. She quickly tended to the pokemon with some fresh berries and pokepuffs to help with their vatigue and returned them to their balls.
the bell rang to signal that she was done as she went to give back the boy's pokemon.

Taking a seat as instructed, Valen quietly watched as the girl scooped up the trap and disappeared into the medical room behind the counter.
His thoughts swirled over her concerned words.
’I could help… I’m sure I can.’ A small jolt of determination began to seep through his mind down into his fingertips, he was resolved to help. ’This is after all part of my mission, I can’t let innocent pokemon suffer just because I couldn’t get here sooner. ’

The ring of the bell signaled him that his pokemon we ready for collection. Leaving his comfortable spot, he greeted the girl with a pleasant grin, “Thank you, we appreciate the help.”
Taking the pokeballs and clipping them onto his belt, he took in a nervous breath and added bravely, “I’d like to help out with the fire rescue; I’ve got basic training in fire fighting. I doubt I’ll be able to put out an entire fire, but I can definably help with search and rescue.”
Frowning his brow slightly he asked quickly, “Do you have a transfer machine here? I’ll need to swap out one of my pokemon. ”

Lira was taken aback by the boy's eagerness to help. Exhausted as she was she wanted to join him.
"The transfer machine is in that corner." She pointed to the corner by the cafe. "I think i might have some water type pokemon in the back that would be willing to help out. Let me go check and i can come with you."
She went to look for nurse joy who happily agreed to send some recovered pokemon with her. She told her eevee to stay by nurse joy and help with what it could. When she explained to the wild blastoise, lapras and gyarados that she needed their help to calm the fire they eagerly joined, happy to help with the effort to save their home. She grabbed as much healing supplies as she and audino could carry.
Lira went back to the boy with the three new pokemon following her.
"I have some reinforcements" she smiled at the boy.

"The transfer machine is in that corner…I think i might have some water type pokemon in the back that would be willing to help out. Let me go check and i can come with you."
With a note of urgency, Valen thanked the girl and quickly made his way towards the Transfer Machine. He knew a pokemon that would be able to assist too.’

Typing out his aunt’s number onto the dial pad, he quickly contacted her and temporarily transferred his flaffy over for Machamp.
The moment the pokeballs had been Transferred; Valen released Machamp from its pokeball and instructed it to follow him back to where the girl was.
To his amazement she had rallied up a strong force of local water pokemon for their mission.
"I have some reinforcements"
“They will definably put a dent that fire” he added approvingly.

Gesturing to Machamp he added, “This is Machamp, he can help nurse joy in your place while we head out.”
With a thumbs-up from Machamp, the pokemon took watch over counter and waited for further instructions.
Turning back to the girl, Valen released his Noivern and Rapidash out into the crowded room.
“ We can also use Rapidash to travel through the fire, fire won’t hurt him…as for Noivern here. If you have a pokemon rescue basket, we can get him to carry pokemon back to the centre while we’re on site with the fire? Air travel will be the fastest way to save them ”

Lira ran to fetch a pokemon rescue basket and secured it to Noivern. With that the pair went out to the location of the fire. As they walked Lira began to wonder about this strange boy. Who was he? And why did he seem so eager to help?
With a start she realised she had yet to give a proper introduction of herself.
"Sorry, i just realised i never told you my name. I'm Lira King."

Valen winked, his tanned features held a teasing expression, “King ey? Well your majesty I do apologize for not introducing myself earlier ”
With an outstretched hand he smiled playfully, “My name is Valen Penchant, It’s a pleasure to meet you.”
As they proceeded to make their way towards the bellowing smoke, Valen’s voice took on a more serious tone, “Things are going to get quite dangerous from here on out, you sure you’re ready for this?”

The Rest of Firefighting Squad soon came into view. Their exhausted squirtle and wartortle were still doing their best to extinguish the fire. “We’ll have to leave the water pokemon here with the Firefighting squad, they aren’t going to last long on their own. You and I can take Rapidash out into the forest.

Gesturing for Rapidash to join them, the mightily horse took an eager step forward. Valen tied a saddle bag onto Rapidash’s saddle; earlier they had stored potions, revives and medicine inside it.
With his hands on the saddle, he lifted himself up and mounted his stead. Stretching out a hand to Lira, he spoke determinedly, “Let’s get going. ”

Lira was awe struck by the scene that unfolded in front of her. Fire engulfed everything within sight. Water and ground pokemon were pooling all their effort into surfs, sandstorms, rain dances and whatever else they could to help. Lira instructed the water types she had brought to help with the fire. Audino was to help any injured pokemon. She only kept her dratini and her ninetales. Her heart pounded as she took Valen's hand and he pulled her onto his Rapidash.
Within moments they were racing through the flames. Smoke hung in the air like a cloud but it didn't seem to phase Rapidash, or them, surprisingly. The heat was much less than Lira had expected and she suspected it woukd catch up with them if they should stray out of Rapidash's aura.

Her eye caught something in the bushes and she screamed to Valen to stop. Rapidash skidded to a halt and within seconds Lira had grabbed her first aid equipment and was heading to the bush.

She found a family of pichu there. They seemed scared and the smoke had made them weak. However there was one who growled and snapped at her as she tried to help the injured lot.
"Hey. Calm down. I'm here to help. Please come with me, i will get you to safety." She stuck her hand out at the small pichu so it could smell her. With a sniff it decided she was not a threat and seemed to instruct the other pichu to follow her. They were lethargic and didn't seem able to move.
"Noivern! I need you here! Quick!"
She applied burn heal and potions to ll the pichu but the smoke inhalation was a problem.
Noivern appeared. Behind her and she started lifting pichu into the rescue basket. The one who had growled at her would not let her take it before all the others were gone and once she had put the others in she encountered a problem. It seemed there wasnt space for more.
Thinking quickly she turned to the pichu, fetching a pokeball from her belt.
"I need you to get in this ball. I promise i will let you go as soon as we get to safety. I will put you back with your friends and everyone will be alright. But there isn't space left for you there and your friends need nurse joy to heal them more than you do. Please come with me." The pichu looked at her with concerned eyes.
"I promise i will let you go and everyone will be fine."
The pichu touched the ball and was called into it. The ball wiggled a few times then stood still, indicating that the pokemon was caught. Noivern flew to the pokemom centre.
the heat suddenly caught up to Lira and she felt faint. She was dripping with sweat, her breath was coming in shallow quick patches. Then she heard a mighty roar and things got somehow hotter. She turned to see the cause of all this chaos. A pyroar loomed over them, fire spitting from its mane. It did not look happy at all...

The heat had gradually begun to catch up to them and Valen could already feel beads of sweat forming on his neck and back.’ This smoke is no joke, it’s getting thicker and it’s burning my eyes too’

He glanced over to Lira to check up on her, she seemed exhausted too. She had just caught the last remaining pichu.
Valen turned to Noivern next, he gave the dragon a quick pat on the side, “That’s everyone for now; please head back to the pokemon centre. These Pichu need immediate attention” With a mighty leap the Black beast growled and took to the air with its precious cargo.
Heading back towards Lira to assist, Valen suddenly stopped dead in his tracks. A massive Pyroar stood before them, its mane danced with a fiery of flames, its claws retracting tensely.
“We might have a problem”, he added to Lira under his breath, “He does not look happy.”
A deafening roar filled the Forest as Pyroar aggressively leaped towards them.
Valen quickly grabbed Lira by the arm and pulled her behind him, “I’ll take care of Pyroar, I think that it’s hurt. Head to Rapidash, his aura will protect you from the heat”
Valen quickly reached for two pokeballs on his belt, he needed to calm Pyroar down and quickly before the entire forest burnt down.

“Absol! Chikorita! I Choose you!”
In a flash of brilliant light, Absol and Chikorita leaped onto the scene. Valen was ready for a battle.
“Absol! Your up first! Use Rain dance on Pyroar and the forest!”
With its white fur bristling, Absol’s eyes seemed to glow in response. Dark clouds began to form. A downpour of heavy rain quickly followed and began to pelt down on the scorched earth and Pyroar. The lion did not respond well to this, but Valen had managed to weaken it a little.
“Nice! You’re up next Chikorita, dodge Pyroar’s attack! Then use leechseed!”
Narrowly missing a blast of Pyroar’s flames, Chikorita slid across the muddy ground and cast out a seed. A mass of vines erupted from the earth shortly after, slithering around Pyroar’s form and draining the last of its energy.
Surprised that the battle was over so Quickly, Valen returned his pokemon and rushed to Pyroar’s side to investigate, “It must have been badly injured to lose so quickly…there’s something on its neck, looks like a collar. Lira what is this?” Valen’s fingers slid over a hard metal device attached to the collar, it sparked slightly from water damage.

Lira went over to join Valen at the pyroar. Her legs felt shaky and it took all she had not to fall over. She looked at the metal collar around the pyroars neck and gasped as she realised what it was.
"This isn't good. Not at all. I've seen this before. It's a very cruel device used to control pokemon in illegal organisations. This poor pyroar." She went to work trying to get it off, but nothing she had with her could help. She let dratini out of its ball.
"I need you to keep a steady stream of water on this." Next she let the pichu out. It looked at her quizically.
" i need your help please. If you know any electric type moves please use it on this collar, we need to get it off to make all this stop."
The pichu turned to the collar with determination in its eyes and let loose a steady stream of electric power. With a click the collar opened and she used what potions she had on the pyroar.
"That should do it for now." She turned to Valen and all at once her week of hardly any sleep and constant work along with the heat and smoke around her caught up to her and she collapsed.

With some ingenuity from Lira, the metal collar opened with a click and fell loose to scorched earth. Pyroar remained unconscious for the time being, which worked in their favour as they treated the pokemon’s wounds. Applying the last potion with assistance from Lira, Valen finally felt a sigh of relief escape his lips, “Phew, that was quite intense…you did a great job by the wa-”
Valen’s eyes widened as Lira began to sway from exhaustion. Before he knew it, the girl’s legs began to buckle beneath her. With a quick swoop of his arm he managed to pull her towards his chest, holding her upright as she blacked out.
“LIRA!”, he shouted with sudden fright. Turning his gaze towards Rapidash, he yelled, “Rapidash! Quickly! I need you”. With a snort the horse made its way towards him. Slowly Valen laid Lira on the ground beneath Rapidash’s Aura so that no flames would burn her.
He then turned to the group of pokemon before him. With a desperate call he asked them to return to their pokeballs, which they did with no hesitation.
“As for you Pyroar, you need extra care from the pokemon Centre. I’m taking you in”
Narrowing his eyes with determination he reached for an empty pokeball. In a second the ball had been hurled towards the slow stirring Pyroar. It hit its mark with a thump and instantly the pokemon disappeared in a flash of red.
Once the Pokeball wobbled no more, Valen scooped it up and backtracked toward Lira and Rapidash. The flames in that particular area had diminished significantly thanks to rain-dance, however that could not be said for the rest of the forest which still glowed dangerously with dancing flames.
Placing Lira’s limp from onto Rapidash, Valen lifted himself up onto a spot behind her to ensure that she did no fall while they rode. He needed to get her to a hospital as soon as possible, she had inhaled to much smoke and exhaustion clung to her form in the form of beaded sweat.
This is not good, I need to hurry

Hours had passed since Valen had left Lira in the care of the hospital. He had stayed with her as long as he could before the doctors had ushered him out so that they could treat her.
Deciding to make himself useful he returned to the site of burning forest. It was here that he spent the reminder of his day assisting and rescuing what pokemon he could.

Lira woke up to Valen's concerned face. Her throat burned and when she tried to talk all she could muster was a raspy croak.
"Hey"
She was dying to know how it was going with the fire and the pokemon they had saved.
The pokemon!
With a start Lira sat up and the needle in her arm pulled painfully. Lira yelleped.
"Pichu!"
She was looking around for her pokeballs.

The forest fire finally died out towards the middle of the night. Valen and the remaining firefighters yelled with glee as the last of the embers were doused with water. It had been a hard and strenuous fight against nature, but worth every burn and bruise.

The next Morning Valen woke up dehydrated and stiff. He had stayed over at the travel facilities inside the pokemon centre, Nurse Joy hadn’t allowed him to leave after see had seen some of the burns he had received from the fire.

With a lazy stretch he quickly got out of bed and stumbled into the bathroom. After a much needed shower and change of clothes, Valen then made his way outside the centre.
I should check on Lira, I hope that she’s okay
With that thought lingering on his brain, Valen reached for a pokeball on his belt and released Absol.
“You ready for a walk to the Hospital Girl?”
With a cheerful bark, Absol lead the way to the hospital.
Once they had reached their destination, Valen entered through the visitor’s entrance. He was soon shown to Lira’s room. She was still sound sleep when he entered, her petit face framed by purple and pink ringlets of hair.
Valen blushed, she’s quite pretty when she’s sleep.
He took a seat by her bed, His hands reaching his sketch pad as he waited for her to wake.

About an hour and a half later, Lira awoke with a start.
“Hey you’r awake at last sleepy head”
The girl seemed frantic and sat up quickly, tugging painfully on the drip still needled into her arm.
“Woah! Easy Lira, Everything is okay,” Valen assuringly as he stood up and gently touched her shoulder, his sketch pad falling open on the floor behind him.
“You’re looking for Pichu? I know I didn’t ask, but I thought it best to take all the pokemon to the pokemon centre for treatment.” Reaching for his belt, he placed a pokeball firmly in her hands, “Try not to stress, Pichu is right here.”
Smiling with encouragement, he added “So how you feeling? We were quite worried about you,”

Lira let pichu out of it's ball. The pokemon seemed to have been to the pokemon centre.
"Hey, did you see your friends? Is everyone all right?"
Pichu replied with a happy "chu!"
Lira relaxed and sat back with a sigh.
"Good." For the first time she focused on Valen.
"I'm feeling ok. Some water would be nice though. Is the fire out yet? What happened to the pyroar?" Half of her sentence mist have been almost inaudible with her throat as raw as it was. She was glad to see Valen though. Her eyes dropped to sketchbook that fell on the floor.
"What's that?"

"I'm feeling ok. Some water would be nice though.”
With a nod, Valen padded towards a water dispenser in the corner of the room. Once he had filled a glass for Lira, he passed the glass to her along with a small sachet of powder. “I’ve got strict instructions to give you lots of water mixed with this powder that Nurse Joy sent. She says it’ll help with any pain or raspiness of the throat…just warning it smells a bit like onion, Yuck.”

”Is the fire out yet? What happened to the pyroar?"
Valen seemed to linger on this thought, he spoke with a slightly sadden voice, “The fire did eventually die out at around midnight yesterday, unfortunately it damaged the south and east side of the forest so badly we’ll have to relocate the pokemon to new homes…even some of the city has been damaged by the fire”
Fiddling with Absol’s pokeball, he forced a smile, “As you can imagine Pyroar is not looking very to the residents of the city right now. Just for safety’s safe, I’ve sent it to my aunt in shalour city.”

A thump in the background caught Valen’s attention; Absol had bumped his sketch book off of his Chair.
"What's that?
“Oh that, umm It’s nothing really. Just some silly doodles of mine for when I get bored or need something to distract myself with”, he added with clear embarrassment.
Scooping up the book from off of the floor, he reluctantly handed it to Lira.
“You can have a look if you want, it’s mostly just pictures of pokemon I see I my travels...JUST don’t look at the last page, it’s not finished yet.”
Good Job Valen, just hand her the book you used to sketch a picture of her sleeping in…yeah that’s very smooth you idiot.

Lira paged through Valen's sketch book.
"These are really good!" They were. The pictures seemed to come alive. Halfway through paging through the book she took a sip of her water and used all she had not to spit it out. She had a coughing fit and had to put the book down.
"Oh lord. That's awful."
She downed the water and a shiver ran through her body.
"Normal water please." Tears were running down her face.
"I need to get to the pokemon centre. I need to take pichu back to it's friends and set it free." The pichu on her lap gave a digruntled "pichu chu" and clung to her chest as though it didn't want to leave.
"I promised i would let you go."
The pichu clung to her harder.
"You want to stay with me?"
It replied with a "chuuuuu!"
Lira smiled. "Ok, you can go with me."
She looked at Valen who seemed to be staring at her. She quickly looked away and blushed.
"Uhm. You can come with too if you want, Valen..." She hoped he would agree. She liked having him around.

Passing Lira a fresh glass of water at requested, Valen watched as the Pichu clung affectionately to the girl’s shirt.
“It doesn’t look like Pichu is ready to leave you, Maybe you should consider keeping it?”, Valen suggested with a grin.
Lira considered this and spoke gently to the tiny but stubborn pokemon. "You want to stay with me?" Pichu’s expression beamed and it cooed with approval. "Ok, you can go with me…Uhm. You can come with too if you want, Valen."
Valen chuckled at the two, “You’ll make a good Team, That much I’m sure of. ” Packing up his backpack, he winked, “I’ve got to head back to the pokemon Centre too, so I will take you up on your offer.”
With a call to Absol, Valen petted the canine. He paused for a moment, then turned to Lira and added seriously, “You’re really sure you’re ready to leave the hospital? You shouldn’t rush your recovery; it’ll do more harm than good”
Valen’s sharp gaze searched her violet eyes for an answer. He could see the resolve in her, she was going regardless of his words.
His expression softened and with a casual wave of his hand, he added over his shoulder “I’ll meet you outside, Nurse Joy sent you fresh clothes. You find them on the counter there.”

Lira got dressed and hurried out to meet Valen. She let ninetales out of her pokeball and rode her as they made their way to the pokemon centre.
"So about the coming along thing. I don't really know where i'm going so would you mind if i tagged along with you?" The laughed awkwardly.
"Where are you going anyway?"

Valen shrugged cheerfully, “I don’t see why not, you welcome to tag along. I go where ever my next job takes me”

Once they had reached the Pokemon Centre Valen opened the door and waved his hand in a playful gesture, “After you your highness.”
Once they were both inside, Valen’s bright gaze seemed to search the waiting room. He was expecting a client, the one who had summoned him to this city in the first place. Once he had located his client, he turned to Lira, “I’ve just got to deal with some work stuff, but I’ l be back soon.“

With a friendly wave he approached an elderly looking gentleman. The gentleman was one of the local farmers whose crops had been the victimized during the forest fire.
The two men chatted for a while as Valen explained the situation and the cause of the fire. Once they had settled on an agreement, Valen offered the gentleman a tablet-like screen to sign.

Valen then dismissed himself and headed back towards Lira. ”Looks like my Job here is complete, I’ve checked my log book and thanks to that farmer I have another Job that needs attending to at the berry orchard just a few hours West of here.”
Valen rubbed his head shyly, “So you still keen to join me on my Journey, I could really use your medical skills out in the field?”
Absol seemed keen for Lira to Join too and nudged her hand affectionatly.
